Hive Hosting

As a full service urban beekeeping company, we deliver, install, and manage biodynamic beehives at your urban garden or rooftop. We offer You Host and We Host options!

INSTALLATION   

Mystic Sister delivers and installs your honeybees and premium hive equipment: we make sure you and your bees are set up for success. 

MAINTENANCE

Our certified Sustainable Urban Beekeeper maintains each hive during routinely scheduled hive visits.  Our organic and biodynamic practices put your bee's health as top priority.

HONEY HARVESTING

We sustainably and seasonally harvest and bottle your hive's honey and deliver it to you. Your raw, hyper-local honey is nutritionally superior; used to alleviate seasonal allergies and maintain good health.

How do I get started?

Simple! Contact us and we will schedule a free site inspection to see if your location is suitable for our local honeybee hives. If your location is not suitable for hive hosting, Hive Sponsorship allows you to support a biodynamic bee hive in a neighborhood near you.



Do I need a big yard or rooftop to host hives?

No! Urban beekeeping takes advantage of many spaces - both conventional and unconventional! If you have a patio, flat rooftop, yard or farm - we would be happy to work with you.



What is Biodynamics?

Biodynamics is a conscious, holistic, and responsible way of farming, gardening and beekeeping, which brings healing to soil, plants, animals, people, and planet. Each unique and self-sustaining farm or apiary contributes generously to the ecological, economic, social, and spiritual vitality of its surrounding community, and the whole living Earth. Biodynamic farmers, beekeepers and gardeners observe the rhythms and cycles of the earth, sun, moon, stars, and planets and seek to understand the subtle ways that the environment and wider cosmos influence the growth and development of plants and animals. The biodynamic approach to keeping honeybee colonies is based on respecting the natural intelligence and integrity of the colony. Our goal is to promote the health of bees by minimizing stressors, by allowing them to develop in accordance with their true nature. Bees are allowed to build natural comb, and swarming is acknowledged as the only way to rejuvenate and reproduce a colony, and is therefore mimicked by controlled management. Our queens are allowed to move freely throughout the hive; and sufficient honey is retained in the hive to provide for the winter.



Do I get to keep the honey from my hives?

You will receive up to 12kg of your own hyper-local honey when you host hives with Mystic Sister. And this is no ordinary honey. Mystic Sister is Toronto's only beekeeping company to offer plastic free and biodynamic hive services. That means your honey will not only be hyper local, but of the highest quality on the market.

Saidy Corneglio is the founder of Mystic Sister, a certified Sustainable Urban Beekeeper, Herbalist, and biodynamic gardener living in Toronto with her husband and 4 children. Saidy believes that regenerative agriculture and wildlife conservation are paramount to healing our planet and building a truly sustainable future which honors and respects the Earth and all her inhabitants. She holds diplomas in Sustainable Urban Beekeeping, Western Herbalism, Anthropology and Photography.
